Let's not remind all the Republicans laughing in Arizona is when that anti-abortion law passed, women didn't have the right to vote.

But we do now.

This law just like the ones being passed in many states was designed to take women as human beings out of the equation and in 1864 women had little to no autonomy. Men decide what women should do and when. This law presumes this is how it should be. Maybe now in 2024 women will vote with the vengeance we should have had in 2022. It may be the countries last chance to save our democracy. It will most certainly be women's last chance to save our rights and our claim to being humans.

This territorial law the right wing AZ Supreme Court upheld is another example of AZ being the butt of national jokes and embarrassment. It's not easy being a Democrat in AZ. As an AZ resident, woman and regular voter by mail (take that right wingers) this will drive people to the polls. This state and GOP legislature has a history of being on the wrong side of social policies that are at odds with their constituents. Back in the 80's we had a GOP governor that refused to recognize MLK day and referred to POC as "pickaninnies". In the oughts we had a GOP governor that signed SB10, "the show me your papers bill" that had a devastating effect on hispanics. Yesterday we had a right wing court appointed by a former GOP governor eviscerate women's rights to make their own decisions regarding reproductive health care. So glad I signed the ballot initiative to get abortion rights on the ballot in November. We also have an opportunity to vote two of those justices from the supreme court off!

You also had a whack job MAGA nut for a sheriff who managed to get a pardon from the MAGA man himself.

Joe Arpaio. He's a real piece of work. He housed inmates from the county jail outside in his "Tent City". He made them wear prison stripe uniforms with pink underwear and served them green bologna as meals.

It's really good to hear this.

But you know, for all the crazies in Arizona, the voters are really pushing back- Kari Lake losing, Abe Hamadeh, Mark Lamb- most of the nutjobs lost.

Your state confronted the crazy a little earlier than the rest of us and it's very encouraging to see it turning purple.

I think the chance of a #FAFO in November is high.
