"We speculated yesterday about whether the Dobbs decision might influence the presidential election. It appears we have an answer."

Perhaps I'm not as smart as I think I am. I've read the column three times now. I've seen speculation and a connect-the-dots analysis. But I've not found any actual answer. (If it is so, and the takeaway is as clear-cut as we like to think, why then is the presidential race even remotely close?) If it is lurking somewhere in the weeds, or otherwise I've failed to deduce it, please set me straight and save me the next six months of putting up with arduous campaigning and the assault on my senses by all means of advertising. My mental health could use the break.

On another note, it's great the the Bulwark team is doing live events. Now, is there any chance that y'all will remember that the Upper Midwest exists when you put them together? You always seem to lock in on places that make it impossible for us to attend, time-wise and cost-wise. Maybe there aren't enough of us here in Flyover Country to matter. But to the extent that we live in some important swing states, and your message needs to be heard, why not bring it to us in person and make it a little easier for us all to help to determine the eventual outcome? Asking for myself, and for those up here into democracy but who aren't yet tuned in to the message that you seek to share.

I don’t live there, but I agree. Don’t make the Hillary mistake.

I'm not at all sure it is close. The undecided factor is something in which I don't believe Trump will gain last minute converts. He's at max. Nolabels is gone and RFK is involved in some self destruction. Meanwhile, in so many of the elections seen locally, look at how it went, in Alabama, in Florida. Look at the shifts starting now. November is a light year away. Trump should concentrate on prison reform now. He may well be there soon.

Trump may be at max, as you say, but I'm increasingly worried about left-leaning and independent voters staying home or leaving the presidential part of their ballot blank, not willing to vote for DJT but also unwilling to commit to Biden. It is a net subtraction from Biden that helps DJT indirectly, which in some key states may be what he needs in order to get to the finish line first. On the left it remains an all-hands-on-deck situation.

Agree all live events should be in swing states. So far, they've got PA booked.

I wish they would have one in Wisconsin - I've never been and I'd like to go. Maybe Charlie will invite me to stay at his house? =)
