Steve Bannon is, at his core, a pathetic dude. Narcissistic, greedy, insecure.

And he's done such profound damage to our country, because his blundering existence put him in the right place at the right time to capitalize on decades of deliberate fermentation of paranoid insecurity among right wing voters. He connected with the power of the mob and channeled it into empowering another greedy, insecure narcissist.

The difference between Bannon and Trump is that Bannon at least has some intelligence, but he's still just another little grubby opportunist who made his place by loudly, angrily agreeing with people's fears and misguided rage.

What a contemptible little man.

There are a million finance bros in NYC just like Bannon. This is a man who rode through 3/4 big liberal cities and found out what time it was. He did Goldman Sachs, Hollywood, then DC. There are soooo many men like him in all three cities.

Yeah he's just the chode who found the lottery ticket blowing across the parking lot.

Such petty little men to do so much damage.

"...chode who found the lottery ticket blowing across the parking lot" is probably the best description of so many guys like him I've heard in awhile.

Having intelligence compared to Trump is not a high bar to clear.

That's why I've always reserved more loathing for Trump's enablers than Trump himself.

Left to his own devices, Trump would be nothing. He'd pretty much starve if deprived of his inheritance and the babysitting ecosystem that comes with it.

The people who willingly prostrate themselves before a mental child just to draft off the graft, they have far more knowledge of the evils they're part of than Trump does.

Or bang their husbands and children, since he is a closet deviant. Read some of the interviews with his hired women.

History has a habit of calling out and holding accountable his type of lowlife. Unfortunately that comes after the fact, doing us little good in the present when so many people with the power to derail him choose both not to see and hear the evidence right in front of them and to ignore its impact on everyone else.

What's the point of being the smartest person in the room if you're just going to use your intelligence to fleece the rubes through illegal means and then get caught? The whole donate to the build the Wall scheme was clumsy and easy for law enforcement to identify as a scam. Saul Goodman would've been shaking his head at the laziness of it.

The wall itself has always been such a blatantly and obviously bad scam. Back when I first noticed people were taking the idea seriously I started asking them how they could trust the government they mistrusted for everything else to actually build and maintain such a wall. (The latter part being the biggest issue, it's a multi-generational commitment.)

The question was poorly received, of course.

But ignorant people love symbols more than reality.

No need to explain the "Be-you-ti-ful Wall" was breached two weeks after the contractors left the work site.

It's just the belief in the Wall's strength that is meaningful to the MAGAs.

Even better...have a painting of Trump in a suit of armour with a lance standing on top of the Wall. The rubes would pay $49.99 for that one.
