"I will vote for whoever the nominee is" = "I am unwilling to sacrifice my standing within the party".

None of these chumps have the courage and conviction of Liz Cheney or Adam Kinzinger. Assume the worst of them, and move on.

Because of course, the most important thing to all these cowardly losers is to keep their seats. They almost never do what's good for America. The rare exceptions, Cheney, Kizinger, the 10 votes for impeachment, have been turned out of office.

And for a well-adjusted person with perspective and integrity, losing a Congressional seat is not that big a deal.

So, they’re definitely NOT telling their kids “It doesn’t matter if you win or lose, it’s how you play the game.” Or is that not a thing parents say any more?

Well, my parents told me that. I'm sure yours did, too. Who knows what they *tell* their kids. What their *actions* say is if personal honor, dignity, integrity and shame get in the way of holding office, it's not only acceptable to cast those things aside, it is required for good standing in today's GOP. Which is why we see a large number of amoral, submoronic fuckwits running as GOP candidates now.
