Grassley adding to the overwhelming evidence that putting Party over Country is now openly considered a virtue in the Republican Party. Authoritarianism *is* the ideology.

Which is amazing. At his age if a man is afraid speak his mind without caring what people think, then he is sad old man. Maybe Grasslley has always been an authoritarian.
And nihilism is the means to the authoritarian goal. The dysfunctional Congress really irritates the public, so Congressional (R) leaders ensure that it accomplishes nothing, which increases the irritation. Eventually, the public gets to the point where a "strongman daddy" looks like a far more effective means of governance than what we've got. And said "leaders" will be right there to help install that authoritarian system. Mission accomplished! It's been their intent since the 1990s.
Additionally...they pretend like they want to solve an issue in a bi-partisan manner but then pull out in the end...and blame the Dems. I think this done by their leadership more so than the GOP participants in the effort to be bi-partisan...so their members get disillusioned too and leave politics...leaving openings for more MAGAs to join in.

Lucy with the football.
Grassley, now there is someone who old and looks it.
You’d think a guy his age would have accrued some wisdom.
"Wisdom" is neither looked for nor tolerated in the Republican Party. It's thuggery all the way down.
All the way!!
