The Capitol Police are most deserving of the honors they are receiving and credit for not escalating the violence. But in lavishing praise, you neglect to mention that the crowd was predominantly white. This also brings to mind the incident at the Michigan Capitol in April 2020, which ended without bloodshed in spite of many protestors carrying long guns and forcing their way into the building.

It may not fit the feel-good narrative, and Lord knows I love you for bringing the dark, but if you're going to mention Eric Garner, George Floyd, et al., as you did, you cannot then fail to mention that another thing they have in common is the color of their skin. If we were talking about BLM protestors on Jan 6 they would have never made it up the steps, and everyone knows it. This need not be the focal point, but it cannot be left out altogether either.

In order to win, Ron DeSantis (or some other candidate) only has to use the one weird trick that Jeb failed to come up with in 2015: At the first debate (or other suitable opportunity), dump a glass of water over Trump’s head and smirk as the hairdo collapses and the bald old man is revealed. It’s a meta move, going above and beyond, demonstrating BDE and showing the emperor as he truly is. I can’t stand DeSantis, but I nonetheless offer him this sage advice at no charge, just so I can catch the video at 10:00. It’s going to be wild.
