I don't think JS was too dark. I think he was entirely realistic. I fully expect Biden to win, but also that there will be another insurrection...or worse...before he is sworn in. I love that you have the optimism to expect Biden to win. I'm personally very afraid that we are going for a coin toss and I don't like those odds one bit.
