I think President Biden has done a very good job as President. But after his dismal debate performance, he went from having a very competitive race with Trump to having no chance of winning. Unless he wants the triumph of Trumpian authoritarianism to be his legacy, the President needs to withdraw his candidacy. All the Democratic consultants’ spin and rationalizations will not fix the indelible negative impact from Biden’s feeble performance. Whatever the difficulties and chaos from choosing a new Democratic nominee at this late date, I believe they will have a better chance of winning than Biden.
