I said it before and will say it again, best $100 I spend each year is on Bulwark+. The writers are superb and arguments are done with good faith, you cannot find it often elsewhere.

I dropped WSJ and NYT and hope WAPO doesn’t go further astray.

I read everything Tim Alberta writes. I live in neighboring Ohio and chafe often at the national commentary on my state. Few national writers capture what's actually happening here, either missing the nuances or getting things outright wrong. (My pet peeve is the proclaimed "truth" that Ohio is firmly a Republican state, when it's only because of extreme gerrymandering that the 46% of residents who vote for Democrats are locked out of statewide and national offices. We are more of a purple state than our elected officials reflect.)

Tim is not one of those journalists. He gets the Midwest in a way no other prominent writer with a national following does, at least not another one I can think of off the top of my head.
