Candidate Trump posted this message in Truth Social recently:

“2024 is our Final Battle. With you at my side,

we will demolish the Deep State, we will

expel the warmongers from our government,

we will drive out the globalists, we will cast

out the Communists, Marxists, and Fascists,

we will throw off the sick political class that

hates our Country, we will rout the Fake

News Media, we will Drain the Swamp, and

we will liberate our country from these

tyrants and villains once and for all!”

He is clearly showing that he not only is encouraging Putin to take over Europe, he also wants to run America the way Putin runs Russia — the Stalin model. Put people on lists, have the secret police cart them away.

I feel this is a direct personal threat to me, and probably 85% of the people who post on this forum. To Trump we are the “sick political class.”

Why this is not on the front page of every newspaper and the top of every TV broadcast is a terrible indication that the press is already caving. This is not normal. This is not safe. This is not Trump being Trump. This is Trump being Putin, Stalin, and Hitler. We should all be very frightened. We certainly can’t count on the courts to protect us.

I'll give Lindsey Graham one point of accuracy: I don't see Russia invading anyone else in the next 5 years. Mainly because they are having such trouble with the one invasion they've got on their plate now. Russian power is likely spent for a generation after this fiasco, and even if they win and the US were to pull out of NATO, they're no match for a united Europe that is awakened.

No, the problem isn't them, it is China. How does China look at a world where the US has been proven feckless and has been shorn of the most successful alliance in history? How do nations like Australia, Japan, S. Korea, N. Korea, Vietnam, The Philippines, India, etc., etc. look at that world? How does competition for resources and friends in Africa go? Closer to home, how do South American nations look at the Monroe Doctrine?

In short, if the global superpower can be so incredibly short-sighted and self-defeating as to throw away all the advantage it has gained from winning WWII and the Cold War, every nation on earth will have to re-evaluate their position, and how in the hell can such a calculus work out to our favor?
