Was Wright's character supposed to be mad because only one form of black community was deemed worthy of publication and movie making or was he mad because that form of black community was embarrassing to him and his class? I ask also because I noticed his two siblings were near broke due to divorce (and maybe drug use by the brother). Is he afraid his family are becoming like that form he doesn't like?
