Donald Trump and his followers are the dregs of humanity.

What does everyone think about Rupert Murdock's papers, NY Post and Wall Street Journal saying Trump isn't worthy to be President and behavior during Jan 6th was abhorrent. They both praised Mike Pence. Friday Night Trump held a rally and during thst time Fox News broadcast an interview with Disantis. Interesting. I hate Trump but it's scary that the media can be so manipulating.

I have to step back occasionally and think about how this plays out. The reality in the last presidential election is simply that Biden received 8 million more votes than Trump did and if it was not for the BIG LIE, it wasn't particularly close.

So now we are all supposed to cower before the threat of the 33% of republicans sitting at the stool on the end of the bar swearing it's time to take up arms.

Try taking up arms with an AR15 against a Huey with hellfire missiles.

So back on point. Let's say that one third of the GOP sticks with Trump no matter what. They stay.

To Hell with Santis or whoever. They stay.

If that does become a likely scenario, then we have really become a three party system. Sane Republican, crazy insureectionists and Democrats. Now it has always been the case that Democrat argue amongst themselves, but Biden still got 8 million more votes than Trump.

So assuming that The Trump Ego is sick and strong, he might well keep his fans as a third party or by simply allowing disillusioned MAGA people home. I don't know, but I'm guessing that a Trump person doesn't turn into a De Santis person all that easily. No Panache. The areas of concern remain the local issues where passionate MAGA people turn out for primaries. The MAGAs frequently win the primary and then lose the general. I like that. What's bad are efforts to corrupt the intent of voting rights and how to count those votes. That's still very dangerous.

But Trump? I think he's actually toast. I want to know how many followers go down with that ship as future noise makers. I just don't think that DeSantis can lie as easily as Trump does. That's a gift. .

Matt Gaetz and I have an opinion in common: I too am willing to send Matt Gaetz to war over the Monarch butterfly. His life would be a small price to pay for the restoration of this majestic species. If an opportunity does not present itself for him to give his life in combat for the Monarch butterfly, I am more than happy to send him into the Everglades with a shovel and some milkweed plants. He'll fine out there among the gators, boa constrictors, and pumas.

What are conservative values? Rule of law, limited government, personal responsibility? Today’s Republicans exhibit none of these qualities, but I hear many of my favorite Bulwark hosts and guests use the title conservative when referring to them.

Trumpist Republicans cloak themselves with the respectability the title implies, from referring to themselves as the ‘Party of Lincoln’ to claiming kinship to Reagan.

Please call them out when Cruz, Hawley, McCarthy, Gaetz, or any of the others call their policies conservative. And please don’t refer to these people as conservative yourselves. Arrgh! If I could I would put a shock collar on Bulwark hosts that would be triggered by calling any Trumpist a conservative.

Sigh, to think that i may have to vote for another Democrat to keep Trump out of office brings me to despair but we do what we must do to keep our Republic

It seems the MAGA intern had poorly written the cur card that the Princetonian scholar was reading, which was: Hi, I'm Ted Cruz and my pronoun was asshole."

But then his off-the-cuff revision was in the wheelhouse of his audience of whom 54% read below the 6th grade level...so it is no wonder that the jokes offered by ReTrumplican'ts offer jokes that are "funny" on grammar school playgrounds.

RE: They Keep Telling Us Who They Are

Yes. Yes, they do. No real need for any reminders here. But good reminders never hurt.

We must also tell 'them' who we are. But more importantly, we must 'show' them who we are. In the next election. And the one after that. And the one after that.

Meantime, a little 'telling' when an appropriate opportunity arises can't hurt. A recent brief conversation between myself and a co-worker who's well entrenched in the Trump-a-sphere, and with whom I seldom exchange many words, the last few of which concerned a car-deer accident some time back:

"Hey, M... you hear the *former Vice President's* got Covid?"

(I had not yet heard of Biden's Covid infection, so was caught off balance for a brief second. I guess he could see the question mark on my face.)

"You know...the *former Vice President* that's sitting in the Oval Office now. I like to show proper respect for offices and job titles...you get what I'm pitchin'?"

"I get what you're pitchin', but I ain't catchin'. Biden won. Trump lost. The election was fine. And you need to get over it. So, you get your car fixed yet?"

Didn't get an answer on that.

And you can add ...

9. Spotted on Breitbart:

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) pointed to scripture to show fellow conservatives how to battle against the radical left and their schemes, urging the crowd to “put on the full armor of God.”

So I have a serious question:

Why doesn't Charlie have his own show on MSNBC? They need a token Conservative. CNN has Chris Wallace now, nbc needs to catch up, to unify this hapless land...

Charlie is remarkably photogenic. Has a voice created for broadcasting, and when both the camera and the mic love you, it's a no-brainer. And his views would be amplified considerably... which would be good for America... and great for the msnbc audience.

Am I the only one who sees he's a natural for TV?

Charlie, Thanks for spoiling a perfectly nice summer Sunday with reality. I have a question for you, when does a politician denying the result of an election after all legal reviews declare the election valid become sedition?

Did anyone read between the lines and see "Internment camps for libs..." Sound ridiculous? Nope.

I've been thinking along those lines for some times, and worse. Gulags, maybe. Perhaps ghettos. Nothing is off the table if these people come to power with little to no real accountability.

It is a small step from them taking control to using it to solidify their power, by removing competition or threats to it to the fullest extent that they can. Saner people have gone down worse pathways in history.

I think now is the time for these puffed up man babies, who get pedicures, have 5 kinds of hair product, and go to spa resorts, to take a little hunting trip with the Cheneys. Keep fingers crossed for an accident.
