After hearing about the returning admirals and generals, I think this is the first time I thought a military coup would be more presidential than Trump’s crime syndicate. If they are made to swear an oath to Trump—that would be a domestic enemy, right? Gotta laugh to keep from crying.

This whole trump administration can be summed up in one word: OPTICS

He still thinks he's on his TV show; everything about him screams Apprentice. As in: an inexperienced guy who's supposed to be learning a craft or trade.

Problem is he doesn't learn, the only thing crafty about him is his tirades, threats - NO substance, all BS ranting.

Government via Truth Social - neither Truth nor Social!

They will demand that these generals take an oath to obey Trump and those who refuse will be fired and replaced by incompetent bootlickers or fascists.

I believe Hitler replaced all his top Generals, too.Who is controlling Trump? He is a horrible person, but not that smart and strategic.

"ELECTRIC BOOGALOO"

Are you aware that the Boogaloo Bois name refers to a sequel of the American Civil War or second American Revolution? -- i.e. Civil War 2: Electric Boogaloo

---

How many code reds can a country ring without taking much meaningful action?

Do we not believe the firing of Jim Comey is a Code Red, or are we just lazy? Because if we're just lazy, then we deserve what is happening.

And you know what, the mainstream media doesn’t care if you think Trump is corrupt. They just want to be there to report on it in a totally balanced way. If democracy ends, The New York Times wants to be there to describe it in detail for us, without coming to any judgement unless it is carefully balanced on both sides of the freedom/dictatorship divide.

Putting all American generals and admirals from around the world in one place is the biggest security risk ever. One bomb decapitates our entire military. And they are not at their stations if a crisis happens. Will there ever be a better day than Tuesday for China to invade Taiwan?

I'll read the article in a minute, but the headline alone screams for a comment. Anyone paying attention knew decades ago that Trump doesn't care if anyone thinks he's corrupt, as long as a critical mass of people worships him. We knew long before he entered politics that he's extremely fragile, and if that worship ever falls below a critical mass it will literally kill him. But what we have learned more recently, and are still in shock over, is how that critical mass of worshippers also knows he's corrupt, and wouldn't have it any other way.

As could have been expected, they are leveraging the death of Charlie Kirk to go after "the opposition". With the goal of upending future free and fair elections. Tar the opposition well enough and 2026 becomes an exercise in futility for transfer of the House to the opposition, the normal midterm pattern. But not no more, in these Trump times.

Bringing all the military brass world wide to Virginia to possibly swear fealty to the master and forego the constitution is a possibility. Cut a few generals from the force. I'm sure Pete Hegseth will take a back seat and listen to the leaders rant. I have a feeling the press will not be there and if they are they will be told what to say. I do know that Pete Hegseth has been scanning members private or social media sites. Anyone caught bad mouthing the leader will be waterboarded. Eric or Donny Jr would make fantastic generals. Maybe with a shutdown he could declare Martial Law and unleash the military on the populace.

A few comments...

1) Even in the first go-around, one of the hallmarks of Trump was that his explanations/rationalizations for his policies were often so clearly just BS. No sentient being would believe them, but at least he gave an explanation. Now in Trump 2.0, he’s just stopped even pretending to have any justification other than revenge. He just says “do it”. So Comey must be prosecuted because he’s a “bad guy” as if being a “bad guy” is a crime by itself.

2) If Trump is going to drop the fig leaf, the rest of us should as well. We should all tell it like it is. Bondi is willing to try to punch a big hole in Comey’s life, someone who seems to have done nothing other than serve his country with honor and distinction, without the slightest honest justification. That’s not politics. That’s just pretty evil.

Likewise, Patel has gone after any number of honorable FBI agents. Not for malfeasance in law enforcement, but for malfeasance in political loyalty. Pretty evil as well.

Let’s no longer pretend that there is the slightest bit of decency in, or rational explanation for what these two have done. Or pretend that it’s anything other than what it really is – an attempt to ruin good people’s lives just to make a bad person’s life a little happier.

Drunk-in-chief, Pete Hegseth is going to demand their allegiance and make them swear: “Ich schwöre bei Gott diesen heiligen Eid, daß ich dem Führer des United States Reiches und Volkes, Donald Trump, dem Oberbefehlshaber der Wehrmacht, unbedingten Gehorsam leisten und als tapferer Soldat bereit sein will, jederzeit für diesen Eid mein Leben einzusetzen.” Guest appearance by the Führer.

I like to respond to Bill's excellent and for me, informative article (Quantico Story). Two things stand out and hit me hard. First, that Trump and his royal clown patrol are calling a meeting at Quantico for all the big brass of our armed forces. Bill related that nothing good will come of it! That should be the Trump family motto! This meeting concerns me over it being needed to be called and the location at which it is to operate. This is part of the secret side of Project 2025, I guess. The second thing is Trump suing the states to get control of voter information rolls. Once again, this is something that has zero goodness for America in it.

My problem with these issues and everything else that has happened so far, is there seems to be a prevalent feeling among the Democratic party leaders, Independents and those Republican party officials to adopt basically the old approach of, "See No Evil/Speak No Evil/Hear No Evil." To be more blunt, NOBODY SEEMS TO BE DOING ANYTHING SIGNIFICANT TO BLUNT TRUMP AND HIS FACIST CONGLOMERATION OF BLOOD SUCKERS! All those in power to oppose Trump appear to have backbones made of lime jello. Oh sure, we hear some voices every now and then objecting, sometimes even in an elegant manner. But, in my opinion, not enough real physical push-back and organization is being done! This is especially so for documenting and delaying Trump's maniacs actions that are occurring right now. Trump and all his team need to be put on notice RIGHT NOW! Those of us that are against Trump need to start applying actual legal power NOW! We need to stop waiting around NOW! We need to start planning not only for the 2026 election, but also create multi-faceted committee's to plan for Trump's impeachment ASAP!

The idea that he doesn't care if you think he's corrupt shouldn't be that surprising for a couple of reasons.

First, as many people have pointed out, he doesn't seem too concerned with what anyone thinks except his base. A base that has been conditioned to believe all of his opponents are corrupt. From the lies he peddled about the Obama administration, to the "lock her up" chants, to the deep state, his base has been conditioned to believe there's been a massive criminal conspiracy orchestrated by the left against the right.

Secondly, he no longer has anyone around tp persuade him that his corruption has downsides. During his first term, I was one of many people who were dismissive of claims that there were responsible people around him, limiting his worst instincts, and instead labeled them all as "enablers." How wrong I was. Now there is no stop-gap between him and his sinister excesses.

I agree with you about those who helped hold Trump in check during Trump 1.0. I thought that their explanation that "if I'm not there, just think who would replace me" was just an excuse for staying close to power. Now I see that they did provide a valuable service to the country. I, too, was wrong.
