How is MSNBC going to spin this, Tim?

Do they hate Trump more than they love Israel?

My guess: they love Israel more, right?

They can't criticize Israel, I don't think they can criticize Netanyahu, obviously they can't criticize the attack itself (all that pesky violation of international law), so I think criticism of Trump is off the table ... so ... what? Criticism of the process?

"While we agree that Trump did the right thing attacking Iran, he should have told the Gang of 8"?

Worries that silly Defence Secretary may not be up to the job of fighting for Israel?

I love that Obama is "getting out there". It's sorely needed. A sane, calm leader who remains widely admired, and I think increasing missed. For obvious reasons. My ridiculous pipe dream: he's going to find some impossible way to run again. That's clearly nuts! But I think he's starting to almost wish he could do something that huge to help. If only such fantastical things were possible. Because he understands the crisis we're in.

100% Tim is correct that Obama should go on Rogen et al and he hopefully does in the next week(s).

Hey Tim - I so agree with you about Obama. I watched the whole thing before I saw you on Nicole and my driving thought was - this is not time for no drama Obama. I don't understand how someone who has given so much to the country, to doing what he thought was right, to being a good steward of democracy, is not raging made. He seems so casual about it - I want more. I want anger and motivation. It almost seems like he feels hey - no matter what, I'll be ok.

Tim, I hope Obama takes your suggestion to go on one of the bro pods.... and, his message needs to be a bit more urgent, IMO! Thanks for putting this up. I always love hearing what Justin Wolfers has to say too. Hope to see him on the pod again sometime! :)

A Call to My Fellow Grandparents: Defend the Truth – Promote Independent Media

After the powerful No Kings protests on June 14, 2025, many families—including mine—began discussing the real reason so many Americans took to the streets: to express outrage and solidarity in response to the inhumane ICE arrests now targeting both migrants and democratic leaders.

We’re witnessing a horrifying pattern—asylum applications being quietly dismissed, not for lack of merit, but to fast-track deportations. Families are being torn apart. Parents are being arrested at court check-ins, in schools, in hospitals. And now we’re seeing elected officials—Democratic Party leaders, judges, and local representatives—publicly detained by ICE outside courthouses and detention centers.

That silence from mainstream outlets? It’s not accidental. It’s a political strategy to ignore the humanity of what’s happening—and to frame protestors as threats instead of truth-tellers.

📺 What Fox News Is Pushing Instead

On The Ingraham Angle, Fox commentators recently accused Democratic leaders—like Rep. Hakeem Jeffries and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu—of “endangering ICE officers” by criticizing the agency’s conduct. They framed lawful protests as threats and claimed a “400% rise” in ICE assaults—a claim that remains unverified and debunked by independent fact-checkers.

Fox’s Faulkner Focus further inflamed tensions by calling the No Kings protest “a coordinated riot funded by radical liberals,” despite video and journalist reports confirming that the protests were overwhelmingly peaceful, with families, faith leaders, and seniors participating.

🔎 What Independent Media Revealed

Thankfully, independent media and reputable sources have stepped in:

Senator Alex Padilla’s arrest was broadcast by Fox as a “refusal to comply,” but unedited footage clearly shows him identifying himself before being detained.

ICE’s claim of a surge in officer assaults has no transparent, corroborated data to support it. Independent reporters from outlets like The Guardian, The Washington Post, and The Daily Beast have flagged these inconsistencies and exposed the political motivations behind recent detentions.

Peaceful protests, including those with grandparents and veterans, were mischaracterized to create division and justify overreach.

✅ What You Can Do – Amplify the Real Story

As grandparents, we have a sacred responsibility—to be the memory keepers, the truth sharers, the moral compass of our families. Here’s how we can step up:

Support independent media. Subscribe, share, and post articles from sources like The Guardian, ProPublica, MSNBC, Reuters, and Democracy Now! that are reporting the full truth.

Speak up online. Share what you’ve read and seen. Say: “Here’s what I found about these ICE detentions. Let’s be informed—not just outraged.”

Educate across generations. Our children and grandchildren may only see social media headlines. We can fill in the gaps. “Did you hear about the No Kings protest? Do you know why so many people showed up?”

Keep it local and personal. Post on Facebook, talk at church or community events. One honest voice can drown out a hundred manipulative headlines.

We stood up together on June 14, and we must keep standing. Our democracy—and our shared humanity—depend on it.

With gratitude and determination,

✍🏼 Clarissa Sr.

I get Tim's point about Obama going with the bros.

However, I wish there could be a MLK "I have a dream" set-up with Obama doing a fist-pumping moment of outrage for the history books.

Would have to be after the next "worst of Trump," but maybe post the No Kings showing, it would be possible to fill DC?

Tim, I got the feeling — perhaps I’m way off base here and was just hearing my own thoughts— but I got the feeling, watching this segment, that you wanted to say “It’s about time Obama said something! Where has he been during all of this?” Again, maybe that was just my own first reaction, but I hope you’ll speak to this in today’s podcast.

Karoline was not lying about saving $1.4T. But it’s like the gambler who said he won $100. Unfortunately, he spent $300 to win that hundred. So if the CBO says we are going to increase the deficit by $2.4 trillion then without those “savings” she referred to, it would’ve increased the deficit by $3.8T.

Years ago Hebrew National ran an ad touting the quality of their franks. The slogan stated: "We answer to a higher authority". Trump's go-to cajole of Jerome Powell ignores that The Fed too observes a kosher law of his own. As James Carville has noted that law is laid down by the bond market. Of course Trump recognizes no law but his id; the tablets might request a moment.

The number of tweets Dumpty posted about his goddamned poles...I mean polls... I mean are we supposed to think of his flagpoles as a payment for the plane he expects all us to pay for him to fix up and take home when his term is finally over? The things he imagines other human beings care about are beyond my understanding.

Trump went out to put up 2 enormous flag poles at the White House today. A Fox News bunny asked him when he decided to put them up, he said "I wanted to put them up during my first term but they wouldn't let me...I was the hunted then, and now, I'm the hunter".

I do declare… that man simply cannot open his mouth (or tweet/bleat) without saying something completely stupid and absurd. And often dangerous and harmful.

He has absolutely no clue how to act and behave in a presidential manner. None at all.
