Trump has already started down the path of cajoling, and if need be threatening anyone who continues to talk about Epstein.

He will do this in private calls at times, but also of course across social media.

He has been very successful in stamping out talk of whatever topic he wants gone from the public eye.

However, this might be a different beast. Not simply Epstein, but FrankenEpstein, the monster he created and likely can no longer control. Because as Trump knows, conspiracy theories sell. And whatever truth might be behind this case, it will NOT prove to be Trump’s base voter Pizzagate level insanity about Hillary Clinton and Hollywood elites like Oprah and Tom Hanks abusing children. And so this base cannot be satisfied. Hillary will not be arrested. And so the pitchfork and torch mobs will not go away. And they will demand blood. Whose blood, remains to be see.

When Jeffrey Epstein was arrested on July 6, 2019, on federal sex trafficking charges, the Attorney General of the United States was William Barr and Donald Trump was the president.

Yet Trump is repeating over and over how Comey Biden Obama created these files on Jeffrey Epstein to deflect to blame and minimize without one speck of shame on his face for lying.

I haven’t heard anybody correct him that William Barr was the Attorney General at the time .

"I know this might seem kind of naive, but if you care a lot about, if you're extremely mad, as I am, about the immigrants who have been kidnapped and sent to a foreign prison, then you should do a Chris Van Hollanden and go down and tell Salvador. If you're upset about, as Zoran is, talking about spending and affordability, then yeah, go out there and do events. And what they're craving right now is passion in this moment that feels commensurate with what they feel, like either rage or anger or energy that feels in line with how they feel."

Hmmmm. Interesting. This is true EXCEPT for one issue, amirite?

Since The Bulwark is primarily an anti-Trump site, a site that has a "take" on literally every Trump corruption and cruelty, I am surprised that, AFAIK, The Bulwark has not mentioned that Trump has been meeting with a wanted war criminal for the past week.

Surely this would be a fantastic club for The Bulwark to bash Trump with, isn't it?

The international war crime indictment is for murder and starvation of civilians. This wanted war criminal has credible accusations of genocide leveled against him and his government by well-respected human rights organizations and genocide scholars from his own country.

https://www.nytimes.com/2025/07/15/opinion/israel-gaza-holocaust-genocide-palestinians.html

The war criminal's soldiers have talked about how they were commanded to shoot civilians indiscriminately, waiting for food and water.

https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/2025-06-27/ty-article-magazine/.premium/idf-soldiers-ordered-to-shoot-deliberately-at-unarmed-gazans-waiting-for-humanitarian-aid/00000197-ad8e-de01-a39f-ffbe33780000

The NYT just did a long article how this wanted war criminal has extended the war, not to make his countrymen safer, but to keep himself in power and avoid both domestic and international legal accountability.

https://www.nytimes.com/2025/07/11/magazine/benjamin-netanyahu-gaza-war.html

The Bulwark has criticized Trump for almost trivialities, but not criticized him for holding those chummy meetings. I wonder why? Maybe it's because you've been away, Tim?

The Bulwark can't seem to even MENTION these meetings, let alone criticize Trump for holding them.

Further, not only has the bad orange man been meeting with this wanted war criminal, but so have 14 US Senators, including 7 Democratic Senators, at least 4 of whom will be candidates for President in 2028.

https://zeteo.com/p/14-senators-posed-with-netanyahu?r=3hh94p&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=false

I feel a lot of rage, anger and energy about this Tim. Where do you suggest I protest?

One thing you can bet on: I WILL protest to ensure that Schiff, Rosen, Coons, Klobuchar, and Booker never become President. May that photo of them with Netanyahu be hung around their necks like an albatross.

It was barely a year ago that Schumer gave centrists the ability to vaguely criticize Netanyahu, to make one individual the target for all the fury of the left. But now here Schumer is, smiling and back-slapping with the war criminal. It was all such performative bullshit, bullshit to protect Netanyahu, to keep him in power, and to ensure the genocide continued.

If we have free and fair elections in 2028, the Democratic Nominee will not be wrapping themselves in the Israeli flag, blood-stained with the spilled brains of 20,000 children.

True, and I agree 100%. The real tragedy, is that there is human-caused human suffering all over the world that we in the West tend not to even notice, let alone talk about, because it isn't popularized in the news or on social media. For example, thousands of people, including women and children, have died in Sudan over the past 2 years in what has been called the world's largest humanitarian crisis. Our administration doesn't care about these people either, unless maybe Trump can broker a deal with the ruling faction to sell some of his swag there. Man's inhumanity to man, all testosterone driven.

As for Russia? Don’t believe for a second that Trump has necessarily changed his mind on Putin. This could all be in elaborate ruse to build space between the two of them so Trump can once and for all betray Ukraine. He said he’s going to put tariffs on Russia in 50 days. You mean in 50 days he’s going to treat Russia like an island of penguins? It might all just be clever theater. don’t fall for any change of heart. And don’t believe that that conversation with Melania about Putin ever happened. That’s a complete fabrication. He said when he comes home from work, he talks to her. I don’t think he leaves the residence at the White House where he’s watchingFox News all day.

Why does Katy Tur suggest the Democrats can’t do much. Trump has taught us painfully that owning the propaganda narrative beats legislative achievement every time. (Biden’s impressive legislative achievements was beaten by prison sex reassignment surgery). The POWER in Washington comes from the MICROPHONE not policy proposals, solid legislation, or statesmanship on the international stage. If you mount a Lincoln project like propaganda offensive against Trump the Democrats gain 40% approval points in the polls. Don’t ask questions. Make declarative statements. “The sex offender felon President is hiding a pedophile list because he’s on it!” Just call what’s obvious. This “is what they are craving right now.” We are living through a bully movie, punch the bully in the face! You can’t lose…..

Tim's advice to Democrats: "...you should channel whatever it is you're authentically outraged about."

This resonates with me, and sounds good.

However, playing devil's advocate, doesn't this have the danger of just fragmenting the message of Democrats? As a result, Americans won't really get a coherent message. Also, I would be concerned that this could create the impression that Ds have an irrational hatred for Trump. That's is, some Americans may have a hard time believing Trump is doing all those things, and then conclude the Democrats are being irrational.

My thoughts on his suppression are twofold: he's in it, and doesn't want his base to know that he is in it (not that anyone would be surprised). Or, he knows who else is in it and wants to leverage that as a threat to gain selected compliance. I'm certain there are other reasons.
