Same here. I remember how upset my mom was when JFK was assassinated. My grandparents lived in Dallas at the time. Sadly, later in life, she became addicted to Fox "News" and became angry, bitter, fearful, bigoted, even hateful. I know some of those things happen with aging but this was caused by a 24/7 diet of propaganda (with a sprinkling of real news).
It is so hard when family turns like that. I didn't know my brother voted for Trump *twice* until he died. I'm glad I didn't know. He wasn't hateful, thankfully, and I loved him, but dang it's still rough. My sister and especially her husband and kids are full-on MAGA. Ugh.
