Is Hugh Hewitt that stupid or just a ridiculous lick-spittle for idiocy?

I guess the CBO missed the point that tariffs are not income from other countries. Rather it's income from the economic activity of consumers as corporations pass the cost of tariffs (increased wholesale prices) on to consumers (increased retail price). Even if it raised $4 trillion in income, it's coming out of the pocket of consumers. It's a federal VAT without the value added. Trump is an economic illiterate.

He's SOOOOO EFFING S-T-O-O-P-I-D!!!! It's laughable how DUMB he is...and the American people voted him into office not once, but TWICE!!! WTF is wrong with people (rhetorical question)???

The radical left has been taken over the CBO? Victory for the working class! Now let's do $25/hr min wage, just to make the capitalists shit their pants about paying their employees (who make the company profitable) enough to actually live.

Oh, Tim, how quaint. You think the past gives any protection for the future. Next thing you'll expect us to believe 2+2 = 4.

It's like Drew Carey said, back in the day: the rules are made up, and the points truly don't matter. Even when they should.

Yep plain and simple, Trump’s Tax Bill is nothing more than a wealth transfer from the middle class to the wealthy. Can’t wait for MAGA to make that realization. Dummies.

I was reading along today on Spotify (as one does) and just wanted to know, JVL, if you knew the AI gods have dubbed you…Chibio?

I just can't stand his voice. I mean all the stupid people in his cabinet, his base, the entire GOP and in the main stream media, it's really unbelievable, this timeline sucks!

Funny, he STILL hasn’t extended tariffs to Russia - you know - to stop the Ukraine war!!!

Here in Europe it’s called Value Added Tax (VAT). VAT is a sales tax, just like trump’s tariffs.

Michael Koller's avatar

Without any value added.

If only we could tariff all the lies coming from his ugly mouth.

They report it like this is amazing news. What they won’t say is who paid the tariffs. So the American people just handed over to the government 86 billion. That’s quite the tax hike. Paid for mostly by the poor and middle class.

This is all just so, so stupid. America must be a nation of absolute morons to have let things get to this point. 😮‍💨

steve robertshaw's avatar

To be fair, it's only about half of Americans that are morons. Though most of the rest are ignorant and apathetic!

Some of these takes are starting to feel like empty calories.

The CBO appears to be doing the same thing many written news outlets are doing these days - put the information that might not anger Trump in the first paragraph or two, and the negative information closer to the end. They're taking advantage of the short attention spans of this administration.
