There is not much fraud in Medicaid. To the extent that it exists it is usually perpetrated by politicians, usually Republican. Rick Scott was running for governor in Florida when the company he was in charge of, Columbia HCA, was accused of false billing and other offenses. The company was fined 1.7 billion dollars in fines. This was the largest fine ever imposed for Medicaid fraud at the time. The current governor, Ron DeSantis , is being investigated for diverting federal money, meant to pay for the fed's portion of Medicaid funding, to a oppose a citizens initiative to legalize marijuana. It lost. There are more but I don't want to write an overly long comment.
