I want to to describe the absolutely bizarre WTF deviation between international news and USA national news reports this morning. This started at 4:30 a.m.
BBC News reported that Iran pulled out of the MoU "discussions" this morning in Switzerland bc Israel had violated the MoU by hitting 80 - yes eighty - targets in Lebanon overnight.
But at 6:00 a.m. CNN and MSNOW the headline was that Vance decided that he would not attend the MoU talks in Switzerland without giving any sort of reason. WTF?
Then I tuned in to "Morning Joe" and even Kattie Kay went along with the b.s. that this was all the United States decision to pull out of talks? WTF? Doesn't she pay attention to the BBC?
Morning Joe is a worthless show. I stopped watching when Joe and Mika went to Mar a Lardo and payed trump fealty by bending the knee. With the exception of a couple hosts and guests, MSNOW has lost a lot of credibility.
It’s only real value is to make people like us feel good. It’s possible to be mostly truthful most of the time. But you don’t need to be all that serious most or all of the time.
And we need seriousness right now almost all the time.
Only fools and sycophants could fail to understand the essential truth about Trump: i.e., his greed, narcissism and grievances (particularly towards Obama) are the keys to understanding Trump's actions. One of Trump's primary grievances is with Obama, who made Trump look foolish at the WH Correspondents dinner in 2011. Trump was determined, after ripping up the JCPOA, to show that he, Trump, could get a beautiful perfect deal with Iran and thus show he is smarter than Obama. But simultaneously, Trump reacts to negative media about himself, and as gas prices have gone up, inflation remains high, and even some of his right wing media pals (e.g., certain Fox News commentators) as well as his former pals (e.g., Megyn Kelly, Piers Morgan) ) have questioned how the Iran "excursion" aligns with the "America First" policy Trump claimed to champion at various times. Many if not most Israelis undoubtedly want to believe in Trump and no doubt feel betrayed by Trump, but I suggest that is because they don't understand that grievance, grift and vengeance are at the core of Trump's actions.
As much as I despised most of former President Bush's policies, I have to give him and his wife a lot of credit for being class acts and coming to the opening of the Obama Center. It was really refreshing to see them there.
For all Trump’s bluster he wants to be loved. Obama got along great with the European, Canadian, Japanese and Australian Democratic leaders. They legitimately liked him.
Trump envies that so since he can’t get them to like him, he attaches to Putin, Duterte, Kim Jong Un, the Saudi crown prince, etc. because they give him the adulation while they play him like a fiddle. Whereas none of the traditional ally nation leaders can stomach Trump even the right wing ones.

I completely agree. I only tuned in bc the international reporting indicated that the MoU was a dead letter. But the national reporting ignored that.

I used to think that Obama living rent-free in Trump's head was motivated by racism (it still is), but more recently, it seems to be age and health.
Obama, at 64, is in infinitely better health than Trump; there's no comparison.
Obama is a stark reminder of Trump's mortality and Trump hates that.
