"withholding of removal is the protection that's in U.S. law to ensure we do not violate the UN Convention on Refugees, basic international law."

Basic ... international ... law?

Hang on ... we do NOT want to violate basic international law? When did THAT begin?

What if we say that the Trump administration is being "effective", you know, like Israel is "being effective" when it bombs a designated IAEA facility (which is also a violation of international law).

What if we say that the Trump administration is being "inventive", you know, like Israel was "inventive" when it used booby-trapped civilian devices to kill people (including children) in Lebanon (which is also a violation of international law).

Why is it ok, or at least unmentionable, when Israel violates masses of international law, but wrong when our own government violates a few international laws?

Does the Bulwark believe in international law or not?

I have no doubt that this technocratic SCOTUS would have agreed that slaves were technically property and therefore they deserved no haven or harbor to escape their masters/owners/abusers. This Supreme Court will go down as one of the worst in US history.

Thank you for slowing down during intro.

I’m wondering if ICE is using this as a means to abduct women for human trafficking? If ICE is not providing records, shouldn’t they be charged and tried under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).

What’s next, the US starts (paying for) building concentration camps in foreign countries (similar to what the Nazis did)?

It’s bad enough to have a corrupt pig for president, but now he has the Supreme Clowns as his rubber stamp!

Americans, listen up, eventually they will come for you too!!!

Clarance Thomas better watch out: there was a time in America when it would have been illegal for him to have a white wife. After they finish with the other “others”, they may turn their attention to that!!!!

Aaron is terrific. I understand a lot more now, not that I wanted to know any of it. I, too, am physically ill. But we cannot turn away.

Now what to do? How do we fight this?

Adding my thanks, Tim, for staying on top of this.

We need a delegation of about five Senators go to detention centers and examine conditions there. Use mass to get results. If five isn't enough, send eleven. Make it a spectacle, so that the entire media has to cover it. Demand the cameras of the major networks come along to see conditions.

We need politicians who won't let this go. It should be a confrontation.

Some judge needs to prohibit all deportations, and we need to fight that to the Supreme Court, so that the public can hear about this over and over. Mary-Jo and other say this so depressing they can't listen to it all.

Make the American public listen to it.

I am sick to my stomach. I am a lawyer who grew up in another country under a dictatorship and all the hallmarks are here - the suppression of the press, of protest, and corruption but the worse bit of fascism is the cruelty - Are they going to deal with homegrowns by throwing them out of the airplanes next ?

On the relatively brief journey of human evolution, MAGA continues to remind us everyday we're closer to the primordial soup than anywhere close to achieving any egalitarian humanity.

This is where Democrats in Congress should put their foot down. Set standards for deportations. Rub that in the faces of their Republicans "colleagues". Make the media pay attention. Demand justice.

This... It isn't my country anymore. I don't recognize it, I don't know it, and I'll never feel the same about it again.

Is the labor shortage fake too? So as costs rise, people lose health insurance and every community has a loved one "disappear," is that the plan? The vast majority of us are not wealthy. We sure do love collecting guns here . . . I mean, what could go wrong?
