Jim, how do I contact someone about my subscription? I’ve been trying to change it through both the app and browser site and can’t confirm it’s how it is supposed to be.
People should read this alternative description of the US Bill of Rights Executive Order/Proclamation signed by Trump for Bill of Rights Day
Read it, but be mindful this is a Stephen Miller document and President Trump is Miller's version of the auto-pen.
I have looked over the 10 amendments but have been unable to locate where James Madison talked about "left-wing Lawfare" or "draining the swamp" Maybe a constitutional scholar knows where they are hiding?
Font size 40 LOOOOL for "restoring the rule of law". So says our crypto selling Commander in Chief.
"our rights would forever rely on a good and moral citizenry committed to the virtues that gave rise to our Republic...We are restoring the rule of law, fighting back against left-wing lawfare, cleaning up our corrupt bureaucracies and draining the swamp, and forever ensuring that the American people do not answer to Washington, Washington answers to the American people."
With a set of potential ramifications like these, every prediction of ‘most significant’ US or global turns in 2026 will likely be way off - on day 4 of 365 ffs.
America is back to doing what it always does best. Invading other countries and installing puppet governments all the while lecturing every other country about the rule of law and democracy.
@jimswift Hey, brother. Sad news about your former boss and someone who was more than a political ally in Arizona (and he was a great one) though I wasn’t a close friend of his, former Senator Jon Kyl. The same malady affects my mom, so I have an idea of the family’s challenges ahead. 🙏 Jon Kyl served in the shadow of John McCain and yet was a reliable and steadfast defender of the state. He and his staff helped me immensely at a critical moment for my family.
Keeping in 2026: All the Substack subscriptions I bought in 2025 (and some earlier) to better understand the times we are slogging through. Thanks to the whole Bulwark crew for contributing to that understanding.
By Mandami I don’t mean what he will do as Mayor tho that is important. I mean the way in which his campaign inspired so many people to work to get him elected which would have seemed impossible a year ago.
Why bother with the low hanging fruit of an American city with its small-time political officials such as mayors and councilmen when you can deploy troops to a sovereign country and snatch up a sitting president and his wife and spirit them away in the middle of the night?
Unless we make up our minds to do whatever it takes to stop him, Trump and his minions won't stop until he's deployed enough lawlessness and chaos both here and abroad to turn the United States into a global pariah and even more of a disrespected laughingstock than it's already become under his current administration so far.

Hang with the youth and learn how it looks in person

Keeping in 2026: the espresso machine at work. Love the moments of relaxed contentment amidst life's troubles

Yet another distraction.
What about the Epstein files?

I'm keeping around the new artist I first heard in 2025 - Clover County.
Her voice haunts me in the best way.
there are only so many troops. If Trump deploys them to Venezuela, Colombia, Iran, Mexico, Canada, Greenland and elsewhere he's going to run out.
Keeping around and growing: Zohran Mandami and No Kings.
No Kings certainly. Mamdani might not be my first choice, but I will try and keep an open mind. He certainly is talented.

My sanity !
