To trust T…. and his cronies is a fools game.

"Trump’s not interested in policy wins. He’s interested in headlines—and in ritualistically humiliating his foes."

I live in Nigeria. From this far distance, I long ago (during his first term) drew this very conclusion as embedded in the quote above. It is thoroughly and terribly and shockingly mystifying that some of the leaders of the Democratic Party in the US Senate and Congress have woefully failed to understand this fact.

The tragedy of it all, is that alongside many a mainstream media organisation in the USA, several of your parliamentarians on the Democratic Party continue to delude themselves that DJT's presidency is a normal one. The man and his fellow travellers have inflicted a mortal wound on the soul of your nation, and the opposition is all over playing pretend and nice.

It is saddening and maddening and terrifying, even for a non-US citizen that I am.

At this point, Schumer is either incompetent or complicit. Anyone on earth who thinks Trump will - or is even capable of - good faith is a fool.

The question isn't whether or not Dems should sing kumbaya with the Trump administration; it is how soon will Schumer and Jeffries continue to play at "normalcy?" C'mon. The whole country is burning down and these guys want to play nice. If we were in an era where Republicans and Democrats could at least agree on what facts are, it might be a start. But that party and the regime have made clear they will lie, cheat and steal to stay in power, comity and cooperation be damned. Schumer and Jeffries must go. We need fighters who know the difference between an armistice and getting played.

Chuck Schumer is a card member of the Epstein class. How many times has this also played out over data centers? Insider trading? This is why our rate of decline is accelerating.

Democrats need to remember that Trump lies. Unless Trump's name is prominently displayed, in gold leaf, if he's talking, he's lying!

I have been a fan of Schumer’s since he goaded Al D’Amato, a man who sold his Senate office, into calling him a putz in a debate. This showed D’Amato to be unworthy of his office. Naturally, this was long ago and far away. Since Schumer has been the consummate careerist, a political animal that ranks only slightly above a crooked one.

His performance this year has been unforgivable. The bit with Lutnick was the latest example. As you noted, there is no playing nice with these gangsters. Yet, anyone who watches TV knows that gangsters are unreliable. BTW, you did not mention what was Trumpie’s so called investment in the new plant or if Micron, with the immigration situation, will ever be able to fill these jobs. Schumer should retire. Who should replace him is beyond me. The first qualification is that they should not take any shit off these fuckers.

Lizzie Warren has also been a disappointment. I would have thought she would have seized the moment to pound relentlessly on Trumpie and his gang of thieves. But no, what we get is a putative credit card reduction which at best helps people on the margin. She too needs to find another line of work.

The endless perseveration about how to peel off 5,000 votes here and 10,000 there demonstrates, yet again, that the party is in the thrall of the consultant class. Since when have these people have done what it takes to win?

Don’t debate policy with these schmucks. Oppose when required, let them prove that they will bargain in good faith (they don’t know how), feign interest, and let them twist in the wind.

You've seen recent ads w Warren asking to donate to the DNC? I've been done with DNC for a while. Their lame platform and don't listen to us, not one cent to them until we get new leadership (Schumer OUT) and the DNC reflects the will of the voters. They're not the right fit for fight we face.

Imagine standing next to Hitler and praising him for the new train station, about to be used to transport Jews to camps in the east.

Schumer has had his head up his ass for a long time now. Stop the BS about working together with the worst Administration in history. This is why Democrats have to unload the career politicians from the party. He is an ineffectual clown. It's time Chucky, to retire.

There should be a meme with Chucks face on Charlie Brown trying to kick the football.

We need a fighting Democratic party that recognizes the fight they're in. Maybe Mark Carney could host a workshop for Democrats and help them wake up to the rupture. It's time for the gauzy aspirations to be replaced with reality.

CHUCK IS AN EMBARRASSMENT. Over and over...

It's really simple for the Dems. Tell Trump we'll work with you on affordability, but you MUST rein in ICE and get out of Minneapolis IMMEDIATELY. Full stop. Make the bargin public. ANY blacksliding or complaints from Trump and his minions end negotiations.

It really is simple: they just need to do what they promised us they would do. We know the Republicans lie and buckle under Trump...and now it appears that Democrats are doing the same. With the current president ready to sell the USA to the highest bidder and Dems not doing anything about it...what are next steps for the American people? These truly are dark and scary times in the United States of America!

Trump will say 'two weeks' and Chuckles will believe it. Again.

'....announced the purchase of $200 billion in mortgage bonds'. Where is all this money hat Tru*p is spending coming from? Money saved from not purchasing Greenland, or is it Iceland. I can't seem to keep Tru*p's hit list straight.

"Even if Trump were sincere—even if, somehow, affordability-focused legislation were to be enacted—it wouldn’t necessarily boost him before the midterms."

Folks. Did the editor oversleep and miss this one?
