We’re in This For the Long Haul

If you’ve been with us a while, you know I’m always encouraging everyone to keep their energy up—not to get exhausted, not to tire, not to lose focus. Authoritarians win by convincing everyone else to give up. They flood the zone with outrage, lies, made-up controversies (hello, Springfield), wild accusations, and more outrage.

But right now, with four weeks until Election Day, I’m guessing people are pretty plugged in. We can feel the energy, especially in the Bulwark community. For once I’m not concerned about staying focused.

So this time, instead of talking about the present, I want to talk about the future. Because although we’re working hard to keep Donald Trump out of the White House, it’s possible he’ll win. We need to be prepared.

The Bulwark is Kryptonite for authoritarians.
