Hey guys, it’s Sarah.

If you look around, you’ll notice that lots and lots of legacy media have decided to keep their heads down for Trump 2.0.

And our big-tech oligarchs are sucking up to Trump in the grossest way possible. Zuckerberg and Musk have put themselves at Trump’s disposal. ABC is paying him off to make a lawsuit go away. CBS looks poised to do the same, so it can get a corporate merger approved.

Maybe big tech oligarchs have to make sure they can cash in on federal contracts. Or cable news has to worry about getting access to Trump officials. Well we don’t have a side hustle; we don’t do access journalism; we don’t have business before the federal government.

This is where we’ve been a little lucky at The Bulwark. We’re not beholden.

Here’s our pledge: At The Bulwark, we will always tell you what we really think.

As a recent New York magazine profile of The Bulwark noted, old media is shrinking, and The Bulwark is growing. Other reporters are self-censoring, while The Bulwark is calling out Trump, Elon, and the rest of the goons who are trying to dismantle our government. They’re scared, and we’re out here telling the truth to anyone who will listen.

Support the mission.

Our business is truth. It’s why The Bulwark community came together. Not to pre-surrender and not to flatter our tribal sympathies, either. We’re not members of a party, we’re part of Team Democracy.

That’s actually our superpower. We’re politically homeless, which means we’re not beholden to any cliques. We just say what we think is true and if people get mad at us, so be it. And because we’re an independent media company, we don’t have corporate owners telling us what we’re allowed to say.

Right now The Bulwark has a website, six newsletters, 12 podcasts, and loads of daily videos. And we’re growing, adding new reporters to cover Trump 2.0 and expert voices to help guide us through it all.

And here’s the kicker: We give almost all of this away totally free.

And you know what? We’re just getting started. We’re going to be here for the long haul. We’re not going away.

We can only do this thanks to our Bulwark+ members. So if you’re with us, if you support our mission, if you want to help us keep speaking truth to power—well, there’s only one thing to do.

—Sarah
