I find it very hard to believe that Trump will actually show up to a debate with Biden where there is no audience and his mic can be cut off. Right on cue, MAGA is already laying the groundwork for him to back out. They understand better than anyone that he's in no shape for it.

There was an aggrieved Presidential Debate Commission person on the BBC News yesterday complaining about being bypassed, but also pointing out how many questions on topics, length of answer, and other details normally need to be answered via the commission.
The Biden campaign has cleverly tried to make Trump's agreement a fait accompli including locking in CNN and ABC, but there are lots of details to be haggled over.
You are right, which is why the Biden camp should pounce on the "agreement" to ask TFG when he does back out, what did he not understand about the two, simple conditions, and what does that say about his ability to make decisions based upon his clear understanding of the facts at the time? Those details give the opportunity for the whole idea to collapse. They'll be arguing up until the moment the first one is set to begin.
