I think he finally realized that his positions in maintaining his absurd "I can't vote for Harris even though I despise Trump" were so vacuous and illogical that his future career as a "respected" conservative journalist was in jeopardy. Too little too late for Nikki's #1 fanboy IMHO, but hey, I'm sure Bret will get a nice book deal out of it.
