I went to both shows and they were fantastically cathartic. Minnesota appreciates the Bulwark shining a light on what is happening here. You all are honorary Minnesotans!
Maine sure could use some love. Same war, fewer people, but a big impact. People are terrified. I can personally attest to how scared immigrants are. ICE is still arresting and carting people off, despite what Susan Collins says. People are afraid to drive to school, to work, landlords are kicking people out of their homes because they can no longer pay their rents. It’s a mess. I volunteer for a group that helps people specifically in South Portland. It’s so heartening to see how many people are stepping up. Another group, https://linktr.ee/projectrelief?utm_source=linktree_profile_share<sid=08ef8e07-6a99-46b1-8aea-7ca3ddcc9a44 is doing advocacy work for immigrants like providing lawyers, rent money etc. Community is the only way to get through this
Thank you for the reminder, Sarah! (And thank you for ALL the work all y'all at The Bulwark do every day). I just donated from Alabama. We stand with you, Minnesota!!
Thank you, Sarah, JVL, Tim, & team. Your support, validation, and amplification has meant so much to us here in Minneapolis. I love you guys. Thank you again. XO
Everyone: please don’t look away and please don’t forget about us. On Friday neighbors and I spent all day sweeping and repairing another neighbor’s front door after HSI broke it down to arrest him, then spent all afternoon in court to witness the charges brought against him and others who had protested weeks ago together. Who will they mass-arrest next? Just yesterday an ICE agent pulled a gun on peaceful protesters, then dispersed them with gas canisters. This isn’t over. We will have your back if your community is (God forbid) also in a tough spot.
I sat by a woman from Minneapolis at the Defiance event last week in D.C. She also attended the Bulwark event in Minnesota. She confirmed for me what I already knew, how decent and how strong Minnesotans are. That does not mean their communities under siege do not need help, and I am happy to pitch in. Thank you Sarah for bringing this to our attention.
I just got the app installed and set up. Thank you or this. I’m noticing how much you guys are growing and maturing. So great to see! Also, I will donate to Second Harvest. :)
Thank you Sarah, Tim and JVL for being there for Minnesotans. You Minnesotans are awesome and a shining example of "Love thy neighbor as yourself." Donated!

I too just made a donation. I haven't forgotten the folks of Minneapolis who have been such a great example to the rest of us.
Just made a donation. Thanks for the suggestion. Love you guys!
Sarah is one of those people who is impossible to say “no” to. Donation sent.
Thanks for this piece, Sarah. I did donate again today.
