Loved your tribute to Sanders, Tim. You are so right that the notion of leadership has been distorted beyond recognition by Trump and his admirers.

In Minnesota, when I saw a headline that Governor Walz was taking responsibility for the poor vetting of someone named to a key position., I immediately felt nostalgia - and sadness - for the days when taking responsibility was widely considered a sign of leadership instead of weakness. Walz is a true leader who will likely face a tough reelection. Trump is the absolute worst leader imaginable, so frustrating that millions adore him.

Sorry, Tim, but there's too much background available about Sanders that smacks of opportunism, false piety, for-profit football-mill high schools and questionable treatment of former Colorado players to whom the university had made educational promises for me to accept his re-birth as the new model of what it is to be a man and a leader. Let's see how he is at the end of this season before we issue a crown.

Where is this "false piety" from Sanders? He very frank.

"Opportunism"? In college sports? Gosh. (Lots and lots of false piety, though. Do you prefer Dan Lanning?)

Mr. or Ms. Scraps--

Thanks for your feedback. First, let's observe that "piety" and "frankness" are unrelated human conditions so your question doesn't have an answer. Second, you apparently don't know much about Deion's history of ugly divorces, assault charges, prosperity preaching gig (hanging out with two of the worst grifters, Rev.Eddie Long and "Bishop" TD Jakes), his "Prime Charter School" football factory fiasco and the reason that the school fired him from his own school. Perhaps Deion has had a true "come to Jesus experience". Perhaps God did send him to coach Jackson State, as Deion stated. I guess God decided that the lord would be better served at Colorado where the pay is definitely better. What's real and what's fake is difficult to tell with Neon Deion. It's been this way since he burst onto the NFL scene after starring at FSU. I'll continue to hold my skepticism for a few more trips around the sun. Finally, I have no idea who Dan Lanning is, so I can't possibly answer your second question either.

Thanks so much for recognizing Governor Walz. We in Minnesota are blessed to have his integrity and leadership.
