For example, he referred to one of Mozart's musical rival/peer as someone who created bland...syrupy....but culturally very popular music. Sort of like...<as the prof paused and looked out the window subtly shaking his head in slight disgust>...Barry Manilow. The class howled as this was the early 80's and Manilow was very much a household name back then.
