Listening to The Daily episode on the schism within the SBC was illuminating. Anti-choice zealots will never settle for a win. They will continue to push and push. A national ban is definitely in the offing. As are wholesale restrictions on birth control and IVF. The Democrats HAVE TO focus on Dobbs and the potential for crippling future legislation in this election. It has to be the first thing Biden mentions in every stump speech. Because I guarantee Trump has no answer for this, especially in the middle of an emotionally charged debate.

Agreed. Your daughter or wife is going to get told to go home and come back if she is gets to almost dead. What's the right got to compare with that, my barista having a they/them nametag on?

Yep, these people are religious extremists and will never stop. Being from the South, I was always puzzled by suburban Northeastern voters who were sure that the GOP would never actually overturn Roe. Were they listening?

I think they were listening but totally oblivious to Moscow Mitch's plans for the court system, or the lengths he would go to pack the court.

It's funny, when I google "who said Roe vs Wade would never be overturned," why, it's all men. Not a woman among them.

I have to say that perhaps my largest disappointment with conservatives in 2024 is how fast and hard they throw women under the bus and just, you know, not listen. Rape is not a problem. Sexual assault is not a problem. Herschel Walker paying for 3 abortions is not a problem. When we point out the very obvious fact that birth control is on the chopping block, absolute crickets. Remember when Greg Abbott joked about ending rape and everyone laughed? Yeah. When your presidential candidate is a known sex abuser, women's safety is a punchline.

I would share your disappointment if I was in any way surprised.

The GOP wants to give domestic abusers guns and take away women's reproductive rights. They might as well chain us naked to the stove.

Are you reading their "minds"? That is their obvious next move.

I have a somewhat more cynical view on it: they were in on the joke of firing up the rubes on cultural issues and using it for votes, while having no real intention of doing anything about said cultural issues. That was always the message from WASPy GOP types like Bush and Romney, "I'm normal and these crazy people aren't in control., but I have to give this stuff lip service while my wife goes to her gay hairdresser"

That whole dynamic is what led to the rise of Trump, and is also why MAGA hates RINOS more than Dems. Imo.

Exactly! The WASPy GOP OG never thought the crazies would take power and actually do it.

The recent Dem sponsored ads put out of real, live, suffering women about the personal, irreversible effects the Dobbs decision had on them and their lives is powerful.

So the Dems are on it, yes?

Actually, the Lincoln Project, I think.
