We need a daily “what the hell does this mean” list and we need to talk about it as if it’s as trivial as the amount of thought that goes into most items on it. I dont mean to trivialize the disruption that is caused by people’s efforts to try to figure out how to deal with all of the crap being rained down; but maybe 2-year-old behavior requires a 2-year-old response: NO! But devoting serious conversation to any of this begins to feel like nothing but a total waste of stomach acid. So, a third category maybe: con, non, or BS?

Sonny,

Speaking of stupid Trump, how about a discussion of prescient or political movies, such as one of my favorites "Being There" and one of my father-in-law's "The Great McGinty"? Plenty of dystopian ones that speak to the Trump regime such as "1984" and "Brazil".

Cinema has provided a great window into bad politics, especially in countries under repressive regimes. Filmmakers use a lot of symbolism to get their message across.

Trump has no capacity for forethought, thus this. Thank those MAGA idiots. They think that weather radomes control the weather, so what would you expect. How did we make so many though?

Also, WWI and WWII were shot in Europe with plenty of American actors.

I am sure Sebastian Stan is on Donnie's Hate List, after what Stan did to him in the "Apprentice".

It's another Trump shot at Canada. Vancouver is the third biggest North America movie production city after LA and NYC.

But I say, Trump go for it! People, both Libs and MAGAs, will love to see movie tickets double in price, and have their Netflix, Disney, Hulu streaming fees go up 100%. That might actually get people to riot in the streets against this fascist regime.

Why do we insist on making sense of the senseless with trump? Taking Greenland, Making Canada part of the US, The Gulf of America, Alcatraz, how many dolls kids should have, now tariffs on films of all things.

The guy is a half crazed lunatic on the world's largest ego trip. We're all along for the ride unfortunately.

We know why. Trump vendetta - he is mad at Hollywood because no one in Hollywood takes him seriously. His massive unpopularity with the movie folks makes MAGA mad.

Voight, Woods, Grammer and Stallone love Trump though, they take him ultra-seriously.

I was half expecting a rant from Trump about "Thunderbolts" since he must hate the

guts of Sebastian Stan, who gave a very unflattering portrayal of the Yound Trump in 'The Apprentice".

Isn’t the renewal of the 2017 tax cuts for Hollywood corporations enough?

Another reason it’s much cheaper to shoot aboard is because in Europe the studios are not paying for employees healthcare whereas in the US a huge expense is employee healthcare. (Another reason for universal healthcare!)

I thought the guest was cavalier about the complete annihilation of middle class jobs in the film industry particularly in LA. For every celebrity there are 150 crew members. LA as a city will be devoid of an entire strata of people. Same as what happened in Detroit in the 80s.

>>"because in Europe the studios are not paying for employees healthcare whereas in the US a huge expense is employee healthcare."

This is why actors in the US are desperate to get and keep their SAG card.
