The best Dem messaging I’ve seen in quite some time (with a hat tip to Adam Kinzinger who has definitely helped them by using it himself) is reminding everyone that Elon Musk is our real next president. President Musk and his little puppet Trump sure are screwing over REAL PEOPLE at Christmas with an assist from the GOP. Great work everyone.

Can we get an image of TFG sitting on Elons lap like a ventriloquist and his puppet?

I will do my part at every opportunity. Trump is too thin skinned to not let it get to him.

And Musk is all about cutting spending, but the last time the government was shut down for 30 days, it cost the US $11 billion. And here is Trump saying - leave it shut down until he is inaugurated.

Sadly, it’s is little guys that will be hurt in the end. The wealthy won’t feel a thing.

During that shutdown, I was considered essential personnel so I still had to go to work while not getting paid. It really was a hardship. I know TSA workers who had to get a second job because they also had to work without pay. Their starting salary is low so many of them suffered more hardship than I did, even with their second jobs.

"During that shutdown, I was considered essential personnel so I still had to go to work while not getting paid."

That shouldn't be allowed. No pay, no work. If the government is shut down, THE GOVERNMENT IS SHUT DOWN! All of it! No FA, no TSA, no CDC, no military, etc. Everyone (not just those depending on government checks) should be made to feel the pain of a shutdown. It's the only way to get this nonsense to stop.

Agreed!!! When lawmakers play around with shutdowns, they know essential services will still be provided so there’s no political risk for them. During a shutdown, nothing should be done. When a few millionaires’ and billionaires’ private jets are grounded because Air Traffic Control is “Temporarily Out Of Service”, they’ll pressure the lawmakers they own and get something signed and the gov’t. back up and running!

Doesn’t the 13th amendment have something to say about that?

I ran a nonprofit before I retired, and we pulled together a food collaborative for the 2018 shutdown, and not only had food for the already poor that relied on government assistance, but for the TSA and air controller families. We boxed up food and the airport allowed us to distribute to the workers, working without pay. The stress on people responsible for our flying public's safety was nuts.

As a retired controller, thank you so much for helping out my ATC brothers and sisters and the TSA folks!

Screwing over real people out of fear of an unelected multi-billionaire with a social media company . . . . Great work indeed.
