Imagine, that in Germany, they forbid teaching WW 11, because it would make Germans feel shameful. Or WW 1 for that matter....poor buggers lost!

What, did Mickey Mouse not waive to him once when he was a little kid? What a hot mess he is. What great choices those Repubs have to offer!!!

I am fascinated by deSanto's threat to build a prison near Disney World. Is he suggesting that Florida's prison system is so badly run that people would be afraid of escapees and thus not go to the park?

I am not have problems anymore. I tried to got to comments after Morning Shots and again after The Triad, and both times was looking at a screen full of very small print that seemed to be asking me to sign in, but I couldn't get anything to open. Finally one of them sent me a link in my email and something happened, and I could see some comments, but when I tried to scroll down, it would jump back to the top. I left aftrr my comment and came back, and everything looked normal again. No idea what that was all about.

Meatball’s revenge!

But, of course!

A prison right next to The Magic Kingdom, Mickey Mouse and Space Mountain would be a theme park based on Desantistan!!

A theme park prison!

He’ll call it DesantisTraz.

Think of the new rides for the kiddies 👶!

The Green Mile (an exciting ride down death row ending at the execution chamber)

The Execution (each kid gets their own electric chair and a virtual execution!)

The Roll Call (experience the thrill of mass breakfast with “real” inmates played by actual prisoners!)

The Lockdown (get the real feeling of being rushed to your cell with the slamming of the iron barred door and some special time with your cell mate. The premium tour guarantees your cell mate is in for murder or, in true Desantis fashion, a “groomer”)

The Break Out (a virtual prison break where you get to experience The Shawshank Redemption approach of crawling a mile in a sewer to freedom. A change of clothes is recommended for this ride)

SO, as a Desantistan tax payer, I didn’t realize we needed another prison, unless Orban Ron plans to imprison those teachers and librarians who insist on not banning books by Jodi Picult and James Patterson.

In my case, I’m planning on using The Stand My Ground law to protect me as I conceal carry my permitless AR-15 and shoot anyone who comes to pry my copy of a James Patterson novel from my “cold dead fingers”.

I worked for the Happiest Place one summer and I can tell you they are relentless. I put my money on Disney. Aren't Republicans supposed to be pro-business?

Are we going to start shooting everyone who comes to the door? Seriously this is too crazy. I get lost all the time and GPS doesn't always work in the country.

I'm wondering if they'll try and squeeze a gun shop and shooting range between the prison and Disneyworld...

I noticed the Sheriff didn't as much refute what was said ("inaccurate" without detailing the inaccuracies) as much as get all huffy it was recorded in the first place. Kinda par for the new Right Wing course, donchathink?

re: Meatball

I asked this question yesterday on Notes, and am re-asking here:

Should DeSantis actually attempt to build a state prison next to Disneyworld, can the inmates sue for cruel and unusual punishment? While incarcerated they could possibly hear the people having immense fun just down the street, and, at the least, will be very aware of Disney's proximity. In fact, if I were Disney, I would place loudspeakers in the parking lots - aimed outward not downward - blaring the sounds of the visitors enjoying everything Disney.

These "stand your ground" laws are awful. Coupled with the absolutely sickening proliferation of guns, they're a recipe for chaos and violence.

But stand your ground laws aren't at play in these two cases. These are just cases caused by paranoid nuttery.

Sheriff Clardy: The old saying is, what goes around goes around."

I know, laughing at the stupidity of people talking about killing blacks and reporters seems like an insufficient response, but as a smug coastal elitist it's just my natural weapon of choice against provincial, regressive f*cktardery.

In other news, Ben and his cohorts should be wary of Russians wielding umbrellas and diplomatic immunity. At least once in the past an umbrella was used as the delivery apparatus for a subcutaneous injection of radioactive poison into a troublesome dissident.

Oklahoma governor says there's "no place" in his state for the types of conversations the McCurtain County guys had. The problem is, he's 100% wrong. There are places all over Oklahoma, and indeed the whole good ol' USA, where those conversations and worse (like the Missouri doorbell shooting) happen every.single.day.
