"Kraus...dubbed Loomer 'insane' 'reckless and lazy,' and a 'clown show'..."

"Loomer...called Kraus an 'insufferable cunt.'"

Two things can be right.

Surely you mean "No Rhythm Nation". ;)

I really thought that outfit was so comical it had to have been designed by Melania or her people.

Kass McGann's avatar

I think Melania would have put her in a more lamp-like hat to be fair.

I'm in rehab as an apostate Republican. I took the dive as soon as Trump was given the nomination the first time and I finally realized it was all she wrote. That preamble is only to inform this: we can call anything we want "The Right". It covers everything from genteel economists to shrieking Nazis. But "Conservatives"? The Republican Party? They're done. In the ash heap of history they've already gone. Those things were based in a now embarrassingly-naive set of beliefs and principles that I won't bore you with. It was all thrown away in a wild and self-destructive swipe at absolute, permanent power. The Right, with no scaffolding of serious organization and coherent policy, is a scattering of vermin when you turn on the kitchen light. It has nothing of its own but noise and random violence.

The carnival freak show now on display is just the final twitches of what used to be 'Conservatism' in America, and matters not at all to the future of anything. It's Will's meal ticket for the moment, he'll move on to greener pastures as soon as the amusement wears off.

To me American conservatism has always been about protecting and defending white supremacist Christianity and capitalism. At all costs. But I'm a native Houstonian with family that fought in the Confederacy, I'm ashamed to say, so my views may be biased.

George in Atlanta's avatar

Everybody's views are biased, informed by their personal experiences. I won't argue with your critique, because any response comes down to the same kind of idiocy as "not all men" blurted in the face of "me too". My point is, it doesn't matter. Conservatism murdered itself, it just hasn't fallen down yet.

I’m sad that Meghan McCain didn’t turn out to have any dignity. Between this and her eager “this proves we need the Ballroom” it’s clear lately that she inherited nothing but a name.

Random acts of violence = bad

But staged fair fight violence to settle real life disputes in the ring = awesome

Get Dana White to add these uh whatever you call them (podcasters? Influencers? Tradwifes? Loonies?) to the White House MMA lineup. Let Erika, Jessica, Candace, Laura and anyone else (Megyn? Meghan) settle it the old-fashioned way in the ring or I guess octagon.

Just think, eleven/twelve years ago these people weren't relevant in any way shape or form. Never heard of them and seems like there is a good reason for that. They have zero to add to any reasonable or rational or positive contribution to our society. This is Soap Opera shit, as the Trumpworld turns. They are all clowns in the MAGA-world circus.

Who would you trust more as your Uber driver: George Farmer, Pete Hegseth, Kash Patel, or Tiger Woods?

And to be fair to Owens, Loomer does kind of look like Jigsaw post-Mar-a-Lago face.

R Mercer's avatar

If that is the list of available Uber drivers... I am walking.

And yes, the jigsaw comparison is apt.

I know basically nothing about the new animal farm film, but how did the work of an avowed socialist end up being picked up by a right-wing, religious film publishing house?

R Mercer's avatar

Because it was written by a disappointed, anti-Stalinist--still, given the suthorian tendencies, behaviors, and rhetoric of the Right these days, it is a weird combo, to be sure.

MAGA will continue to eat their own because they’re squabbling for the spoils as the whole thing dies. Trump is what holds it somewhat together. Once he’s gone the hair-pulling and right hooks will get even worse!

It’s remarkable how every person mentioned in this piece is an even worse human being than the previous person. And the bar started out in Hell.
