While I usually fact-check before posting, I could see the comment count soaring as I typed, so I just hit “submit.” Looking into it, I see I had a distorted view of who’s “on staff” and who’s a contributor. And I obviously forgot some important names. But no matter — I’m not going to correct the post beyond the typos I fixed earlier.

Because I was most definitely *not* doing journalism— I was just writing from my feelings. And as many editors I’ve had and dread—I mean, respected!—over the course of my life would tell you, ‘editing’ (and especially ‘copyediting’) can *feel* like a soulless task when you’re working with something straight from the gut. So I will leave my comment alone. Those of you I forgot or whom I miscategorized — just know I’ve benefitted from your contributions too, and I know it.
