I used to feel the same wayβ , but recently came to understand the strength of tribalism. Republicans have created a world of their own around which everything in their life revolves. Those three leaving at the end of this term still want to be in good standing with the tribe, be it for business opportunities, or simply to be liked and included. I'm not one for tribes (I'm a bit of a loner), so this mentality doesn't come natural to me, but it seems this is how Republicans operate. There's never a time that going against the tribe is justifiable.
