General Milley deserves this nation's deep respect. It can be stated anymore how embarrassing and offensive this iteration of the GOP is for good civic citizens across the nation.

Even before Mitt Romney disclosed that he spends $5,000 per day on security for his family, I was wishing a journalist would attempt to reveal how much the whole country is spending on personal security now, compared with pre-Trump. Where is the money coming from, whether personal or public? Is there a booming economic sector now, in professional security enterprises? What does it mean for GDP and other economic metrics? I’m just so curious.

& hence the silence, denial, accommodation, justification, projection, both-sidism, even encouragement from GOP "leaders" and "pundits".

Otherwise the so-called adults such as Messrs. Romney, Jeff Flake, Bob Corker, Paul Ryan, Adam Kinzinger, Kemp, DeWine, Sununu, Hogan, Kasich, Murkowski, (ones who always seemed to be uncomfortable with Trumpism) or converts (such as McConnel, Mo Brooks, John Bolton, Liz Cheney, Jeff Sessions, Chris Christie etc. would have probably broken away from MAGA and formed their own "conservative" party by now. One possible explanation for this not happening is they (& their near-dear ones) are afraid of being personally attacked by their base. It also shows that "conservatism" is all talk, not a real philosophy & will bend over backwards (even contradict itself) if their base demands it.

Exactly. And as we’ve discussed, it goes deep into every day life; like those of us who are too scared for even a political bumper sticker or yard sign.

Luckily I assume she has benefactors, but I was definitely thinking of her, and others in similar situations. So many.
