Seems like the idea of immigrants being here is the worst thing ever until people have to wait longer and pay more for home repairs or letting food rot in the fields, then that becomes the worst thing ever.
You get to complain that they’re here, and that they’re NOT here where we want them, simultaneously. That’s the beauty part. You get to bitch and moan TWICE.
I agree with that. Biden should start posing questions to the media, especially the right wing and centrist outlets and make them respond. Something along the lines of would you rather have lower numbers of immigrants with higher inflation, or higher number of immigrants to keep inflation in check. If the people so upset with some of these issues would recognize that it is one or the other but that there will always be a downside to getting what they want, maybe they might start to work their way back to reality. Then we could have the adult discussions on these policies that has been missing for so long.
Something like 30% of slaughterhouse workers are immigrants, many undocumented, and as I quoted last week, some 40% of farmworkers are undocumented. You want to end immigration? Start with hefty fines on the employers. And wait for the screams, and maybe, finally, a real immigration policy by Congress.

I'd bet that there are no shortage of immigrant workers at Mara Lago.
The WaPo did a series of articles on the undocumented immigrants working for the Trump Organization at the various properties, not just M-A-L.
I suscribe to WP.I missed that.

This is how you know that neither side is really serious about the issue.
You'll get the screams, but real policy...?
