I appreciate Beto's enthusiasm and willingness to put in the work. That said, he not only has made politically crazy statements (strict gun control) that I may not agree with, he also made some questionable or even condemnable votes back when he had actual power, most notably as an El Paso city councilman. He voted to destroy a historic (if poor) Mexican-American neighborhood to build an arena. I don't think he's ever owned up on accountability for that. Things like that make you really question his judgment.
