Are there some overzealous lefty public school teachers? Sure. Are there a "large contingent of educators" who want to "teach their students to become activists?" Heck no! I teach HS science in a public school in rural Ga; mostly we're trying to get our students to sit down and listen to us, and maybe learn something useful along the way…

I teach HS science in a public school in rural Ga; mostly we're trying to get our students to sit down and listen to us, and maybe learn something useful along the way. We have a hard time covering all of the content, never mind anything else.
