The smart and sassy Katie Porter was on tv last night and she pointed out that over 50% of our current inflation is caused by corporations riding inflation to higher profits. Where, or where, are country-loving, civic-minded CEO's who are willing to face shareholder disappointment, and a possible share price decline, for the greater good? Nowhere in our world where Greed is Good.
We can blame Biden (?!), Saudi Arabia, Russia, etc, but might also look to our captains of industry. If one of these over-compensated captains was to say in the quarterly report that s/he put inflation busting ahead of profits I would buy whatever crap the company was selling ( provided it was within my limited means).( Also, when inflation-produced recession occurs, profits gonna sink like stones.)
Of course, it's the CEOs making obscene amounts of money that are pushing inflation. When the price of a packaged salad, locally sourced and made, goes up $1 at the nearest Walmart, I know damn well who's causing it - and it ain't Biden or the Ds, or even the farmer who produced the lettuce. Every single year, when the refineries shut down for "maintenance", gas goes up. Guess who gets the money. BTW, gas went down again at the Circle K since I last checked. And it went down 50 cents at the gas station I bought my gas from last time to now. Again, ain't got nothing to do with Biden. And wasn't it just so coincidental that the Saudis raised the cost of oil just after little old Jared got $2 BILLION from them. The Katie Porter graph should be in every single D ad as well as the stuttering CEO trying to justify what they're doing!
BTW, I am holding/watching my little and now dying 17-yr-old dachshund Jackson most of the time. He's not eating or drinking, and sleeping 99% of the time, and not in any pain. Flashing back to how Dad died when I was holding his hand.
Thank you for letting us know. Have been thinking about you and your little guy, and about loving and losing. I've had a fair bit of that myself in the past 18 months. It's hard when we give our hearts to these wonderful creatures whose lifespans are only a decade or so.
Thank you. Jackson defied the odds - he was at least 17, and a strong little boy. At least, it was quick. Two/three days ago, I didn't suspect I'd lose him so fast. I think my chihuahua, who didn't like him, is starting to miss him too.
Thank you. It's a waiting game now. He's not in pain or suffering, then I'd have to intervene. He sleeps 55 minutes or more out of every sixty. Loves to be held and kept warm. And has been turning down every single one of his favorite people foods that he ate 3 days ago. Now, I just love him and hold him and wait - very much the way Dad went back in '11.
I'm so sorry. We had to say goodbye to our Newfie last month. He was part of the family for 13 years and I feel the loss every day. But I was so glad that he was no longer in pain and was allowed to have some rest and dignity at the end. You have my sincere sympathies.
Thank you. I realized what was happening yesterday when I remembered what hospice had said about dying and how Dad looked when he slipped away. When the sun hits the patio, I'll take him out and hold him - he likes the sun now that it isn't 100 any more.

Eva, I am so sorry! May his passing be easy and borne forward by love.
He just died as I was holding him and telling him it was time to go to the Rainbow Bridge.
