"In his Huntsman post, Vance wrote of his dismay at the Tea Party proto-populism of Rick Perry and Michelle Bachmann, a 'conservatism that is defined by what it opposes: science, liberalism, and gays'.”

In the good old days, before climate change became the science to lie about among authoritarians, evolution was the litmus test. Bachmann and Perry seemed to deny the well-established science. Though Perry's evasion of a simple question suggested that he knew he was "lying for the cause." But Huntsman made it clear that he accepted evolution, though he prefaced it with "call me crazy," aware that it would cost him evangelical votes. It's maddening that no one asks today's politicians to state their position on evolution. Trump almost certainly has no problem with it, though he might have been coached to parrot some idiotic sound bites like Herschel Walker's "why are there still apes?" Either way, I'd expect quite a variety of answers - and evasions - unlike the well-rehearsed party line on climate change.

One only need to look back to the 1930s Nazis. It's exactly the same. A mirror. Take a close look.
