I'm curious if Trump's imminent takeover of the RNC negatively affects Republicans' national downballot races. Are these candidates going to be seeing a smaller feed trough?

Of course he's going to suck up all the RNC money. He's already spent $50 million on legal fees in 2023. Now he will continue his appeals against the government forcing the government (taxpayers) in the quest to avoid accountability. Remember, it's OPM, other people's money.
I agree with the implication, and in close races the Republican nominee (I think) will more likely be relatively moderate, thus not getting Trump's support or the RNC's. This is my pony.

You know he's going to suck ALL the money up. They'll be broke and won't be able to support other candidates unless Trump approves it.
I wonder how much he's going to make them spend on HIS convention?

He spent over $100 million of RNC money for lawyers while he was in office.
Excellent question
Great point! I imagine Republicans who are not on Trump's approved list might find themselves on the short end.
