I agree with Weiss on almost everything. I also think Zeliniski is a very savvy leader and Ukraine couldn’t have been luckier to have had him in place when all this went down three (4) years ago. Trump is not smart enough to know the subtlety of the offer given is not an apology and not a capitulation. It is absolutely a mature return to the table by the adult in the room with a counter offer to buy everyone time just like he suggested. I worry as, JVL and Bill Crystal have brought up, what the re-invigoration of the military industrial complex of Europe and potentially Asia will lead to nuclear proliferation. Once Pandora’s box is reopened, reclosing it by regaining trust will be next to impossible and take decades just as it did before. I always appreciate Mr Weiss incite into the reality of how we are seen and likely to be reacted to by the world. Our press is generally abysmal at understanding other’s perspectives.
