I was thinking this same basic premise last night - Trump is making moves to consolidate his grip on the federal government - and the country at large.

While there's been a lot of discussion around the culture war issues - immigration, Jan 6, DEI - the REAL moves were going on as well:

Firing and investigations of senior DOJ staff; firing of the IGs, installation of lackeys at DOD/DOJ/FBI; defending Stewart Rhodes in court; impoundment.

He's daring Congress to try and stop him from controlling who/what gets money (oh, and it's a great way for Trump to get bribes, er...donations).

Meanwhile, he's removing anyone who could possibly blow the whistle on him, let alone stop him.

AND, he's putting people in place who are in charge of the military/law enforcement who's only qualification is that they do Trump's bidding.

Very scary stuff.

Democrats are falling way behind. Stand up! Speak up!

'All federal agencies who have been issued budgets by Congress will continue their normal duties and responsibilities. There is no authority of the President to stop previously budgeted activities. Any instruction to do so is illegal, and any authority that instructs you to do so is giving you an unlawful order, and that person will be prosecuted. No Trump pardons will save you.'

Then start naming the names of the people giving the orders and sending the emails.
