The NY Times has been weirdly centrist forever, and (I can't prove but strongly suspect) they knew a heck of a lot more about Trump than they printed in 2016. Afraid of legal liability, or boostering Manhattan real estate, it's hard to say.
But the Post hurts. They were a good paper up until very recently. Now they seem to be leaning into "outrage equals eyeballs." And they do love OpEds from the worst people they can find.
Crazy headline today in NYT that makes the claim that Jordan has moved to the center of today's Republican Party. The Republican Party of 2023 is normal in the sense that it would fit into 1930s German politics. It's not a normal American party - at least not normal since 1860.
The NY Times is complicit in the destruction of our institutional norms

I literally kept my subscription to the Post this year because they gave me a deal for $3/month and I like their recipe section.
Sad!
