I don't know. I still wish I was in my 20s. I could eat a full DiGiorno pizza, drink damn near a 12 pack in one party, wake up the next morning with only a mild headache, and be fit and ready for a 5 mile run by the afternoon. Oh, and I could easily drop 10lbs in a two week period.
There was an episode of The West WIng where the White House physician was trying to convince one of the hard-working young men that he needed to take better care of himself. He protested that he's just eating like he did when he was in college. She pointed out that a 20 year old man could live on styrofoam.
When I was in my 20's and stoned (on weed AND beer), after finishing the pizza I'd be rummaging around in the fridge looking for leftovers. Go on a one-day fast and be 5 lbs lighter the next morning. (First liar doesn't have a chance.)
Sounds like a replay of my 30's; stopped smoking (tobacco) at 36, started running and ran my first 5k and a year later my first marathon, followed by 19 more over the next 18 years when my joints began to complain. I was nearsighted, too. Never wore contacts, but in my late 40's my vision straightened out to 20/20 for a year or so and I went without specs for awhile, until the farsightedness began and I had to have readers, too. Now, after bilateral cataract surgery, I am still wearing half-frame readers.
And vice versa for a man. Both sexes age like fine wine.

If I tried to do that now, I'd probably die.
LOL.
But sometimes wisdom accompanies age.
Or so I'm told.
"EVery form of refuge has its price."

Ah, but now we have the wisdom not to try any of that. Otherwise known as 'cold comfort'. ;)

Ah, Dorian. I knew him well.
