I just get a sense of desperation and abject fear from Lindsey every time he talks now. It all feels like it is coming from someone who knows at any moment, their entire life will be turned inside out.

He was my senator in high school. It's honestly really sad to see how much he's deteriorated. I haven't lived in SC in over 15 years, but I've been genuinely taken aback to see him become an object of national ridicule and a laughingstock of senator (deservedly so). I think he always had to be worried about being primaried by someone more conservative and that's why he latched onto Trump, and now the gig is up. He won his latest senate race, but at what a cost. And he's aging horribly, in the kind of way that makes you think he doesn't sleep well at night.
And the mental gymnastics this Southern "confirmed bachelor" has to do in order to get out of bed in the morning and be himself is why he's not aging well.
I have always believed that he is gay, something completely verboten in his home state. Trump knows this and has blackmailed him to keep Lindsey's fawning support.
The Mark Liebovitch piece where we learn about Stinkball's childhood was illuminating. He just likes being the fat kid hanging out with the coolest guy in the room. Sad!
I have some pity for him in my total disgust at what he's done with his reputation during the orange god years. He used to be one of the GOP Senators I respected.
When you begin to feel some pity for Graham based on what he has done to his reputation, think about how the next generations of his family will have to live with, and answer for, the stain of what he did, and for decades to come. That should help you to keep from affording him more concern or respect than he deserves. He seems not to be able to think beyond himself.
That's the problem when you have to play the Chameleon game in our political system. I can't think of a politician (sadly that word should be representative) who more blatantly turned their back on their beliefs and principals to "stay in the game."

He lives up to his childhood nickname - Greaseball was it?
Stinkball.

Thank you Holli! I knew it was some kind of odious ball.
Maybe he evolved into a Greaseball with all the pretzeling he must do. Making sense out of nonsense must be exhausting by the looks of his face.

He needs to stay nice to his orange god. He may need a pardon.
I like how you give him the benefit of the doubt about *may* need a pardon. You’re kinder than he deserves.

As soon as Johnny Mac died he lost his Batman and the ground fell out from under him. Stinkball is a classic wingman. He needs an alpha to follow.
Let's just say he chose his next alpha...poorly...after McCain died.

I’d say Krysten Sinema may be trying to challenge Lindsey for the mantle haha.
