My initial reaction was that this could only help Trump, so I was less than thrilled that the shooter had such lousy aim.
But I guess that's a little too "transactional" to recommend as a Democratic comms strategy.
Unfortunately, reciting that "political violence is antithetical to liberal democracy" sounds a bit platitudinous in the current context. (And *pace* H. Rap Brown on that principle anyway.)
A million COVID deaths only heightened the anxiety that contributes to the climate. Would more dead politicians scare the public straight? Hey, just asking questions. 🤦
