Kanopy. 8 free movies a month if you have a library card. Great selection across all genres.

I used to consider Tubi as a streaming option until I found out that they are owned by Fox.

Great recommendation on Sicario. A great movie that if you walk away from saying "Fuck yeah, America!" man did you miss the whole point

Question for Anyone who cares to answer(and yes, people may ask "what rock I've been hiding under" or century I am in

Lol..):: What is the place, app, streamer.... that people use to watch movies of their choice these days? As in, I used to be able to go on Netflix and select movies from a list of hundreds but now for profitability unrenewed licensing or whatever reason there is only the 14 movies they own or are pushing on top 10 list, Max... Disney.... pretty much same. Wayyyyy back years ago you could turn on IFC and watch good independent films Schlafes Bruder(Auf Deutche mit Englishen titlnwort) but not the case anymore. What is the way people navigate if they don't have options on Netflix, few movies are broadcast, can't rent videos... ?

There is the Criterion Channel…

That's why I still like the cable movie channels. The Screenpix channels find me all kinds of older and some newer movies I hadn't heard of before.

MGM+ has a large library as far as movies go for streaming.

Up until the past September I got Netflix DVD's via mail and I loved, loved it. For one thing, it made movie night kind of special, something I could look forward to, and if it was a movie I especially wanted to see, I planned the perfect pre-movie meal for an almost-perfect evening. The other thing - so many movies to choose from. Once Netflix ended DVD's I made the switch to streaming. Hard to put into words my disappointment. So much crap. So many "originals" that are so like other "originals." So forgettable.

But I will say Max is one of my streaming services, and after seeing Sonny say The Sopranos is the best show ever on tv, I am watching it. And I agree, maybe not with the best, but one of the best.

Max is actually one of the pretty decent streamers.

This might not be quite what you're asking, but when I'm trying to figure out what service a movie is on, I go to JustWatch.com and look it up. Half the time it's on *something* I subscribe to.

The language removal just doesn't bother me, sex scenes etc are usually gratuitous....certainly not "HOT!" 🥵, and violence may be exciting but rarely involves the plot line to any great extent... overall doesn't mean any real loss to edit imo. Content edited for time would be the place where I will be most likely to see an issue. 🤔😄 for whatever reason this subject brings up the image of Denis Franz and the censor be damned use of his butt in NYPD BLUE.
